Since then, it has evolved into a forum for high-level discussions on global economic governance, development, and other pressing international issues. The G20 summit is the most high-profile event on the G20 calendar, with leaders gathering to discuss and coordinate their policies on issues ranging from trade and investment to climate change and pandemic response.
The G20 presidency rotates among its members, with each country hosting the summit and setting the agenda for the year. The most recent G20 summit was held in Rome, Italy in October 2021, and the next G20 summit is scheduled to be held in 2022 in Indonesia.
